In Galicia, the majority of the population speaks Galician as their mother tongue, During the last few years, there has been a negative evolution, as less and less children are spoken to in Galician at home. However, not only has the number of children spoken to in Castilian risen, but the group that has risen most, is that of bilingual first languague speakers, which is very positive.
