The Territorial Location of Galician

<<   1  2  3  4  5  6  >>

Galician is one of the co-official languages of Spain, having official status in the entire territory of the Autonomous Region of Galicia. However, languages normally transcend political frontiers, and so Galician is also spoken in areas outside of the territory of the Autonomous Region of Galicia. There are nuclei of habitual speakers of Galician in the eastern most areas of the provinces of Leon and Zamora and in parts of Asturias. Some such can also be found in the Val de Ellas in Extremadura.
