Galician has an official standard, which is made up of an unified grammar and lexicon, just like in the case of any other official language. However, there are some dialectal differences in the so called colloquial Galician just like we would find in many other linguistic communities. Small linguistic variations divide spoken Galician into three large Galician speaking areas namely; the eastern, central and western areas. For example, speakers of eastern Galician say “pantalóns”, those of central Galician say “pantalós” and those in western Galician say “pantalois”. The borders that separate these areas are isoglosses.
